Nature Day: Mushroom Rock

It would appear that spring is right around the corner, because Jack spotted the first daffodil of the year in our front yard.

We hiked to Mushroom Rock today for our Nature Study (Jack's pick).

We spent our time looking for evergreens. This trail had holly, pine, and spruce trees.

The trail was soggy with big puddles in some areas from recent rains, but no rain today. It was another successful morning in the woods for us.

Notes from the hike:
Location: Mushroom Rock in Prentice Cooper Forest, Signal Mountain, TN
Date: Feb. 15, 2018
Time: 9:30-11:30
Weather: 60F, overcast and blustery
Observations: This trail has mostly deciduous tress on it. We did see holly (a broad leaf evergreen), as well as pine and spruce.

Check back on Thursdays to see where our nature studies have taken us...
